This brooch is an invitation for others to ‘poke’ the wearer. This comes from a series of brooches functioning as ‘prosthetics’ for people who have difficulty touching or being touched. Like a hearing aid would help someone with a hearing disability, these brooches aid those with difficulty experiencing physical communication.

Each person has the ability to move the mirrors within the device. They can choose to see the reflection of their own eye, or move their mirror to see the individual on the other side. To see each other, both individuals must cooperate.
